We had fire in our eyes In the beginning I never felt so alive Words:649 Tags: open Notes: Beach fun times? For Dominique it was a typical day in Omphalos, but for one of the Outsiders summoned here by the gods it probably took awhile to get used to. It had been awhile since he had last been in town of course, specifically a few decades since, but he was able to readjust quickly. Technology seemed more advanced since the last time he had actually set foot in Omphalos, but that wasn't the biggest change. The fact that there were gods and goddesses was never uncommon knowledge and there were always shrines scattered about, but this situation was a little out there. Apparently there was some dragon named Shinryu which threatened to destroy the entire Universe and outsiders had been summoned to fight it off. While it was true that in his own opinion he was no slouch with a bow in the slightest, he honestly doubted that the gods wanted a person who looked like child fighting for them. It wasn't his fault that his was a vampire and stuck in the body of a ten year old because of it, but he had to live with it. It was too bad really. He was able to manipulate people into doing things for him which he couldn't do him because of his apparent age but really should. It was both a thing which was annoying for him and beneficial for him, so it was just a neutral feeling perhaps? He wasn't too sure really, but he supposed that for the moment it didn't matter all that much. All that really mattered to him as he walked out of the old, and seemingly worn down, manor which used to belong to his grandparents was that he didn't want to draw too much attention to himself. Usually he pretended he was an orphan when he came back into town of course, but after two thousand years he doubted people would actually bat an eye if he told them that this house belonged to his ancestors and that he was moving in. Of course there was always the problem of people actually realizing that he doesn't age, but he doubt that it wasn't something he had to deal with for at least five more years. When the time to deal with that actually came there was also the possibility of hiding in the mountains for a while, but that got boring fast. Anyways, even if did draw attention to himself there was always his more childish act. His walk really had no aim to it as he adjusted the strap to his messenger bag so it didn't fall off and break his bow, but for some reason he found himself at the beach. It wasn't overly crowded and he doubted that he needed to keep up the childish act when there was no one around yet. The rays of the sun which actually hit his skin today felt nice and there was a cool breeze coming in from the ocean, so without saying a word he walked closer to the water. His sandals were probably going to get in his way, but if they got too wet he could always just kick them off. Even if he never actually bothered to actually go swimming, it was nice to just sit and stare at the ocean, which was what he did. With the constant ebb flow of the waves crashing and starting up again, the brown haired vampire almost didn't notice the sound of footsteps muffled by sand. Even if he did notice it, he didn't care all that much about who noticed him right now. Playing at the beach was something ten year olds actually did, or at least he assumed so, so he didn't think he was too out of place. The fact that he was in no way dressed for a day at the beach didn't even cross his mind. |
