All roads lead to the summit.
Aster gasped as he awoke patting himself to make sure that there were no burns on his body. "What the heck was that? A flaming tornado? Where the heck did I end up at?" To say that he was confused would be quite an understatement. One second he was in his old house, what was left of it anyways and the next he's waking up in some strange place? After being transported there in some strange swirling mass of fire. "Ok some seriously strange stuff is going on here. SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE!" He was frustrated at having absolutely no idea what was going on.
Instead of doing what most rational people would do and taking time to assess his situation he ran head first out into the rest of the city to find answers. He stopped and blinked looking around. This place was huge. Much larger then the town he was in before or even the city he called home. Not to mention that this place looked like nothing he had never seen before.
He sighed as he scratched the back of his head in contemplation. "Man getting information here would take a lot of work. Screw it I'm not in the mood to go looking for information. Now where around here would be a nice spot to kickback?" He looked around for a while before he saw a high window with ledge he could sit on. He grinned as he made his way up there not really paying attention to any people he might be passing by at the moment. He needed to make sure his temper didn't get him into trouble at the moment. He may be reckless and hotheaded at times but he wasn't an idiot. Starting a fight against unknown opponents was just asking to die.
How long had he been here now? He wasn't quite sure to be honest, maybe a few days, a week or two at most? He'd been home for a short time but he hadn't really had the time to grab as many things as he'd liked to have. The corridors were unstable here, they couldn't stretch as far as he wanted them too but they seemed to be fine for getting to other parts of the city. At least for the most part they were.
Giving a sigh the white haired teen strolled with his hands in his pockets, mostly ignoring people, if he could avoid unnecessary interaction? He'd do just that. Right now however, he was looking for a job. He needed to find a way to earn cash here and provide not only for himself but Kairi as well. Sora already had a God to serve under, so of course the brunette was just fine. Typical really.
"SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE!" A yell, and a frustrated sounding one at that, interrupted Rikus nice quiet stroll. He simply quirked a brow as he drew closer to the source of the voice.
"Man getting information here would take a lot of work. Screw it I'm not in the mood to go looking for information. Now where around here would be a nice spot to kickback?" It took a lot of work? Didn't take that long for Riku really. Then again he wasn't panicking and flipping out when he got here because travelling to new worlds was something that wasn't new to him anymore. Riku took to following the other person now. If only to make sure they didn't go and end up getting in a fight.
"Y'know, yelling is a great way to attract attention, but sometimes it might just attract the wrong attention." He began folding his arms and looking up at the stranger who was obviously new to the place.
"Finding information isn't hard either. So long as you open your eyes and actually take a look for it. There's an information board in the center of town, has lights on it and everything so you can't miss it." He stated, sea green eyes fixed on the red head. He was trying to be helpful but dealing with strangers wasn't exactly a strong point because he had trust issues.
"I can show you where it is if you want. Follow me. If you'd rather sit around and be confused be my guest." With those words he set off walking, he didn't even bother waiting for the other person to follow. He was off and if they wanted to know what was going on they'd make sure to keep up.

All roads lead to the summit.
Aster looked back as he heard someone else's voice. "Y'know yelling is a good way to attract attention, but sometimes it might just attract the wrong attention." He couldn't help but frown at that. He knew this person, whoever the albino haired young man was had a point. But was freaking out when you are randomly dropped into a new place so out of the ordinary? Surely he couldn't have been the first person to arrive, wherever this was, and freak out.
His next words made him smile a little bit. "Finding information isn't hard either. So long as you open your eyes and actually take a look for it. There's an information board in the center of town, has lights on it and everything so you can't miss it." This person obviously didn't deal with someone lazy on a regular basis. After all if they did they would know how ironic their statement was. Though the fact that there was something like that in the center of town was extremely useful information to have.
"I can show you where it is if you want. Follow me. If you'd rather sit around and be confused be my guest." This got a raised eyebrow from him before he cursed under his breath and jumped off the ledge to follow his temporary guide. Looked like he didn't really need an answer and it was up to Aster himself to follow if he really wanted the info. Though he'd rather be lazy this could help him survive down the road.
"Anything is to much work for someone that would rather be lazy then actually do anything that takes effort. But knowing where to find information and getting some information would be useful." He tried to be as friendly as he could be but he had enough time trusting people he knew. So trusting complete strangers was extremely hard for him. Though he was willing to give someone a chance so long as they didn't do anything to show they weren't worth the effort.
"By wrong sort of attention did you perhaps mean an enemy or something? Not sure if you noticed this or not but I just got to wherever we are. Wow yea that would be a bit of a problem not even knowing the name of this place. Anyways how could I attract an enemy or anything like that when I'm new here. No one here would even know who I am?" He placed both of his hands in his coat pockets giving off the aura of some one that was completely relaxed. Though if something did happen he was confident enough that he could defend himself. He was also sure that his guide could take care of himself. He gave off the feeling of an experienced warrior.
"Why exactly are you offering to help me? Don't get me wrong here I'm not trying to complain but how do you know we aren't on opposite sides of whatever is going on here? After all I mean if I was brought here by that strange swirling flame thing you had to have been brought here somehow right?" He made sure to stay a few paces behind his guide making sure to keep him perfectly in view. He wasn't quite sure what to make of him. Granted they did just meet. He sighed he could just tell that what ever was going on his days of just kicking back were gonna be few and far between.
"Anything is to much work for someone that would rather be lazy then actually do anything that takes effort." Well that sounded like an apt description of Sora right there to be honest. However, the fact that the other was following showed he at least wanted to know where he was and why he was here.
"But knowing where to find information and getting some information would be useful." Riku nodded as he walked, his arms unfolding and stuffing his hands in his pockets as he went.
"By wrong sort of attention did you perhaps mean an enemy or something? Not sure if you noticed this or not but I just got to wherever we are." His eyes shifted to the other person.
"Actually yeah I did." Riku interrupted quickly adding a confirmation so that the guy knew exactly what he meant.
"Wow yea that would be a bit of a problem not even knowing the name of this place. Anyways how could I attract an enemy or anything like that when I'm new here. No one here would even know who I am?" Riku now gave the guy a look of disbelief.
"One, this place is called Omphalos, two, doesn't matter who you are, if you happen to be in the way? You're likely to get mauled by something eventually. There's been a pretty nasty monster that keeps showing up around here killing people. So you wouldn't be the first, plus it'll target those who're dragged here more because that way the ones that dragged you here don't have another person to help them." Riku rambled slightly but it was all useful information. At least, he thought it was useful.
"Why exactly are you offering to help me? Don't get me wrong here I'm not trying to complain but how do you know we aren't on opposite sides of whatever is going on here? After all I mean if I was brought here by that strange swirling flame thing you had to have been brought here somehow right?" Riku stopped walking now and he gave the other guy a look over. Nope. Not an enemy. Enemies generally don't go around screaming for help.
"Okay, one, I'm offering to help because it's what I do. Two, I'm pretty sure I'd know if you were on the enemy team because you wouldn't be here nor would you be asking people to help you. Another point is that if you were, then you've had plenty of time to attack me which you haven't. Being brought here by flames probably means the fire god brought you here. To help with the problem. Though you get to pick which one you serve under from my knowledge." Riku stated he only stopped walking when he actually reached the information board. Pointing to it he took to leaning on one side of it in silence. Giving the red haired guy enough time to get a good look over it.
"As you can see, the universe is at stake, if you can fight you're useful to the God people who're calling the shots in this war. Have to stop a nasty dragon, and then we all get to go home and back to our normal everyday lives."

"Actually yeah I did." He caught as he was momentarily interrupted. While at least now he was sure of what his guide had meant. "One, this place is called Omphalos, two, doesn't matter who you are, if you happen to be in the way? You're likely to get mauled by something eventually. There's been a pretty nasty monster that keeps showing up around here killing people. So you wouldn't be the first, plus it'll target those who're dragged here more because that way the ones that dragged you here don't have another person to help them." While at least he now knew where he was.
"Well you have a point there I wouldn't assume some monster would be picky about who it killed." He had noticed the disbelieving look but didn't really care. After all he was getting the information he had wanted and it was being given freely. He stopped as his guide did looking at the board sighing at the information both it and his guide were giving him. Though you get to pick which one you serve under from my knowledge." Yup his chances of relaxing were definitely out the window at this point.
"The god of fire huh? Well I guess it makes sense that would be the one to summon me here with the strange affinity for fire I have." He sighed rubbing the back of his head as he examined the board closely. "As you can see, the universe is at stake, if you can fight you're useful to the God people who're calling the shots in this war. Have to stop a nasty dragon, and then we all get to go home and back to our normal everyday lives." He noticed that his guide seemed pretty calm when explaining all of this.
"All of this talk of Gods and Dragons and the universe being in trouble is really out of my league. But I guess since I'm here I should make myself useful. Man it would be so much easier if I could just find somewhere out of the way to take a nap until this whole mess is over with." He took a moment to actually get a good look at his guide. He kept his hands in his pockets as he did. "So do you have a god you serve..um I didn't catch your name? I'm Aster by the way." He didn't see any harm in giving a little information to his guide. After all he hadn't done anything against him yet.
He looked up towards the sky wondering exactly why he was dragged here. Sure he could fight and if it came down to it would be willing to without hesitation. But he preferred not to get involved in conflicts that didn't initially involve him. He was curious as to how these gods actually chose their champions. Were there certain criteria that had to be met? Did the person have to have a certain amount of experience? Did they have to have some connection to the god that summoned them? "I guess the only question now is why am I here? It's not like I've really done anything noteworthy even if I can fight and make myself useful why would I be summoned in to this conflict?" He didn't really expect an answer but if he got one that would be helpful.
"The god of fire huh? Well I guess it makes sense that would be the one to summon me here with the strange affinity for fire I have." Well that certainly made sense in Rikus mind.
"All of this talk of Gods and Dragons and the universe being in trouble is really out of my league." Out of his league? If that was the case he'd have to talk to the person that brought him here and see just what it is that they thought he could do.
"But I guess since I'm here I should make myself useful. Man it would be so much easier if I could just find somewhere out of the way to take a nap until this whole mess is over with." Riku shook his head for a moment.
"There's a lot of inns and hotels around so you'd probably be able to stay in one of those for the time being. Or if you're lucky you might be able to find one of the Gods and they'll let you stay in their world for no cost." He stated as he took a deep breath. Well Riku now knew what it was like to be a tour guide and he definitely wouldn't be doing it on a regular basis that was for sure.
"So do you have a god you serve..um I didn't catch your name? I'm Aster by the way."
"Name's Riku and I don't serve under anyone yet. I haven't picked one though I'll probably take the same side as my girlfriend." He shrugged. It made sense really. Team up with Kairi just to make sure she was safe.
"I guess the only question now is why am I here? It's not like I've really done anything noteworthy even if I can fight and make myself useful why would I be summoned in to this conflict?" Riku shrugged. He didn't really have much to say for that. Well, he did but he had to think for a moment to figure out the best way to put it.
"Well, to find out why you're here? You'd have to speak to whoever brought you here. The fire God or the creator or someone. Their names should be on that board there." Riku stated before he pushed off the board and started walking. It'd be stupid to stick around in case this guy asked even more questions.
"Oh by the way, there's a map shop around here somewhere. Check the map on the notice board to find out where."

All roads lead to the summit.
Aster listened to the rest of Riku's answers with mild interest. The fact that he got brought here alongside his girlfriend meant that the gods did have some sort of criteria. Or so it seemed. He shrugged it off figuring that he was thinking too much into it. He studied the board for a little while, particularly the map to make sure that he didn't get lost.
He made his way to the map store first being sure to purchase one before making his way back towards the ledge he was lounging at before Riku appeared. He lounged back up on the ledge thinking about the information he had learned. At least now he knew what was going on and had some idea of how he got here. Why the gods couldn't fight there were own battles he had no idea but he'd do his part. After all he doubted he had much choice now that he was here.
"Man how the heck did I ever get into this mess? Guess I'm gonna have to try and be a little more serious. Man this is so annoying." He glanced out at the rest of the city a nearly unnoticeable smirk on his face. At least he wouldn't have to worry about deling with any of the people back home for a while. That was one silver lining he guessed. Plus fighting here would probably protect his home as well. "He said if I want to know why I'm here I should find the god of fire. So that would be Pyrus. Hm I wonder if I would be able to find him all that easily."

Close your eyes
So many days gone by
A swirl of flames rose up near the Information Board just far away enough to not cause the Information Board to go up in flames. Stepping out of the flames as they faded, the blonde haired god of fire barely noticed that there were still a few embers sticking to his arms. Well he noticed enough to actually put them out before he caught his clothes on fire, because running about naked was not something enjoyable, but mainly Pyrus was stuck on thoughts of how he should make his realm. His first thought was an active volcano, but that probably wasn't a good idea for him to do. Heat didn't bother him seeing as he was the god of fire, but what about any champions he might get? He doubted that they'd particularly share his love of heat. Speaking of champions, someone should have arrived by now. Perhaps he was late for the guy's arrival, but it shouldn't have been too difficult to find the guy.
Well he doesn't have to join me, but it would be nice if he did. Seeing as he had obviously missed an entrance through a tornado of flames, which totally wasn't planned, Pyrus set for skipping up and down the streets in an attempt to find this guy. The sound of some high pitched whistling could be heard with each step as he made his way. The familiar slapping of worn leather against stone could be heard as well as he stuck to the sidewalks. Even though he was actually looking for someone, he didn't want to risk crossing the roads. He never was a person for traffic in the first place. Besides it was fun to pass by busy people walking about rather to dodge traffic all day. If they weren't so busy, Pyrus would have stopped to talk to some of them.
What he hadn't really expected to see was a redhead reclining on a ledge. Wasn't that dangerous to do? Pyrus was admittedly too late on arrival to hear most of what Aster said, but he had heard his name at least. Was this one of the outsiders? Well he had just summoned someone here, albeit their entrance was rather unexpected, though he had been too late to see them arrive. If he had arrived earlier, he could have easily spotted the guy, but this coincidence seemed a bit too large to be a coincidence.
"You're looking for Pyrus right? Well luckily enough for you, I'm him. God of Fire at your service," Well he hoped he wasn't wrong and had just been hearing things because otherwise his introduction would have seemed rather strange. He wasn't even sure if this guy was the guy he summoned. I bet this would have been easier if I had already made my realm, but Oblivion's realm is so pretty. It wasn't the best reason for being lazy on making his realm, but if the wide grin on his face was anything to go by then he thought it was a good enough reason.
"If you have questions, I'm sure I can answer them,"

All roads lead to the summit.
"You're looking for Pyrus right? Well luckily enough for you, I'm him. God of fire at your service." As he looked down at who had spoken he arched an eyebrow surprised at seeing a child or young teen talking. THIS was the god of fire? Part of him hoped that it was some kind of sick joke. Though he had a feeling that it wasn't and he noticed his eye twitching. "If you have questions, I'm sure I can answer them." He sighed as it seemed it wasn't a joke.
"So you're the god of fire? Have to say you're not what I was expecting. I was expecting someone or something different. Not some kid." He sighed rubbing his head. He knew that he probably sounded rude by saying that but at the moment he was fairly annoyed and with good reason. He hadn't been expected to be summoned by some god that looked like a child.
"So I'm guessing you're probably looking for fighters then. Not sure how much I can help with a dragon but I'd be willing to do what I can. I mean if you really are the god of fire." He frowned a bit as his general mistrust of other surfaces. He studies the individual closely trying to see if there is any indicator that makes them stand out as a god.
