He yawned. Omphalos was certainly different, actually, he quite liked the change, there wasn't much violence to be had in the place. No military fools running around. No PMCs. No war. Nothing like that, just... Peace. Though even he knew peace couldn't last forever, at least not completely. This Omphalos place was peaceful yes, but just beneath the surface if you cut it open wide enough you'd be able to see the war that was brewing just past the peace and calm. Like the calm before a storm.
That was something Raiden was preparing for right now. More so with his combat body. Mostly machine, what remained that was human? Well, that was yet to be seen really. He knew yes, others however they might see him as more of a monster or a robot than a person now. Even if this was the path he chose... At least, now he chose it... At first he didn't but after time he'd come to accept it and moved on.
The battle he was preparing for currently was to help a certain purple haired angel that seemed to. Like him and not just in the friendly sense. She seemed pleased that he was still in one piece when he returned to this place and to be honest, he wasn't really expecting that. He hadn't seen it coming. At all. So it threw him off a little bit of course he wasn't going to let those thoughts get in the way when he was helping her. Regardless of if he got injured he was helping her ascend and helping her to become something more than helpless. He couldn't blame her for wanting too, because he'd have probably taken that chance as well. Not for the fame. Not for the glory. Oh no no. Simply so he could help stop the stupidity. The chaos.
There was something much more powerful out there than he was, something that was determined to bring everything down. Make it all fall apart just like Sundowner, Sam, Senator Armstrong, they all believed that war was the only way to make things work. Raiden's feelings about that... Weren't on the same level. He may have been like them at one point feeling that he was better at nothing than on the battle field but he had found (with the help of Snake of course) that he was much better at solving other peoples problems. Helping the weak when they couldn't stand up for themselves.
So he thought of himself as more a bully deterrent and a protector than anything else now. He wouldn't ever bother trying to get to the same level as Isis but if he was given the chance without asking for it? He may just go ahead and take it. If he failed? Well then he wasn't good enough to begin with and someone more deserving would have that spot.
Letting out a sigh as he roamed the place he stopped walking once he reached the beach. Even though he was mostly machine he could still feel the sand beneath the heeled feet. He just came out here to hear the ocean, to try and calm his nerves a little because beneath that stoic shell of his, he was at least a little worried. If he wasn't? Well he wouldn't be human anymore would he?
Though that was when he heard it. Some God awful noise that made his ears ring. A hand lifted to his blade tearing the weapon from his back as he watched though what he saw eventually wasn't what he was expecting at all! A young woman came through what looked to be a rip in the air. In an instant the blade was put back and Raiden dashed forwards catching her before she hit the ground only to place her on her feet.
"... Hi. Nice of you to drop in."
