Even in the oddest of situations, there were those whom
loved to explore, to see new sights and to treasure the experience. The roving
thief, Zidane could easily fit into this category. Despite the guise of the
dark skies above, the genome could be seen sauntering through the streets
almost aimlessly, but unlike those casual wanderer’s, this bandit had a goal in
mind. It was thanks to a certain dark haired God that things didn’t look so
bad.
Fallen. That was his name. A sudden shuffle of feet perked
the blonde’s attention and soon enough, he saw a small kid running past,
followed by a few more, each with a special kind of smile on their face. Even
in the face of what’s adding up to a great battle against the likes of Shinryu,
these kids were taking it easy. The teen couldn’t help but reflect their smile
as he continued onward. If only Kuja were here to see all of this…
Raising his gaze to the sky, Zidane gave a small shake of the head in reverence
for his brother before moving on.
It took a while longer, but the wandering Zidane
eventually found an area of notable elevation above the others. He approached a
guardrail separating the higher lands from a dangerous plummet below. The
crossroads below weren’t deathly devoid of people, for the occasional person
could be seen ambling through. Leaning onto this railing he scanned the town,
in hopes of randomly detecting someone he could recognize. The beautiful
scenery served as a distraction, the soft yellow lights from streetlamps and
houses really brought on a sense of nostalgia in the teen…not to mention that
his oceanic eyes still could not keep away from all the pretty ladies that
crossed his vision.
Eventually the time grew even later and while his body
screamed for him to retire, he didn’t. He couldn’t, not when the possibility of
his pals being here loomed. After the
disappointing outcome Zidane turned tail and walked away, following a random
path that took him to a rather serene area. While a lot of the town carried an urban feel, this place was different in the fact that expansive greens
could be seen all over the place, it was like a small park filled with trees
and other shrubbery that Zidane did not recognize.
At the center of this park the artificial genome simply
plopped down on the ground, sprawled out to rest his legs for a bit while
stretching his arms and yawning. This little place reminded him of Cleyra
before it was utterly destroyed at the hands of Brahne and thus, here was where
Zidane decided to take his break. Speaking in a low tone he decided to speak
some choice words in the cold airs, “Dagger…if you’re around, you can stop
playing hide and seek now….heh.” With only silence and the rustle of the foliage,
Zidane kept his eyes on the night sky, smile on his face as his mind explored
old treasured memories.
