General Personality ►: Io has something called 'Depressive personality disorder' it makes her unstable at best. Depressive personality disorder occurs before, during, and after major depressive episodes, making it a distinct diagnosis not included in the definition of either major depressive episodes or dysthymic disorder. Usual her mood is dominated by dejection, gloominess, cheerlessness, joylessness, and unhappiness. Her self-concept centers around beliefs of inadequacy, worthlessness, and low self-esteem, she's critical, blaming, and derogatory towards herself often calling herself a pathetic waste of space or worse. At times she may be negativistic, critical, and judgmental toward others and she's pessimistic. The worst of this however stems from her feeling of guilt and remorse for what she believes is her fault when it isn't. If she could just see past that she would be fine, she'd get back up and move forwards but because so many died she can't just ignore it and she's constantly asking herself what the point of everything is. She seems to think that whatever she does is pointless because she'll mess up and she gives up before she even tries. Due to this personality disorder she's rather withdrawn, abrasive, blunt and it's hard to get to know her on another level to it, it's the most prominent feature of her entire personality. However, if you can get past that, if you can see her for who she really is? There's something much nicer and much gentler beneath. If her personality disorder is pushed to one side, she's actually very helpful, she's caring and loving. She just lost sight of that along the way. She is also very protective of her friends or people she cares about. In her withdrawn state she may simply disregard people and not seem to care but in reality without that state she'll become enraged if people target people she cares about. She will show traits such as compassion, the will to live, the need to protect people, reliability, trustworthiness, optimism and confidence. It's like a completely different person beneath but there is one thing that's holding it back and makes her unstable the thing on her stomach, a device that controls her to a point and halves most of her power so that she can be kept weakened. Once this is removed she'll have the memories she can't reach because they were blocked, she'll have her old self back and she won't be held back anymore. Likes ►: 1. Oolong Tea 2. She cannot however when this is active use anything other than spells. It cannot be used in conjunction with Demonic roots. • Demonic roots Due to her Demonic roots she can activate this and she gains x2 damage to all physical abilities and combinations, this will remain active until she turns it off. It cannot be used in conjunction with Angelic roots. • Flight When her wings eventually regrow she'll be able to fly but because of the damage she doesn't have auto-float. (RP threads only.) • Destruction Dome In any battle grid thread, Io will gain one counter each turn, when it reaches the count of five, Io has a 50% chance of losing control. If she does? All enemies remaining will be encased in domes and their HP is reduced to 1. In the event of a boss monster, the boss monsters current HP is reduced by 40%.(Must roll a 1,2 or 3 for it to be successful. If successful it cannot be used again.) • Cure Heals minor/normal wounds/damage but can only target one person. • Regen Heals minor/normal wounds/damage for a single target over a period of time. (Usually about three turns/posts in battle) • Protect Lowers physical damage taken by a single target for three turns/posts. History ►: Unknown to Io she was born to an angelic mother and a demonic father, the small family of three lived in a small part of a forest, in a cottage like home, Io had fun playing out in the forests. She actually enjoyed being around the animals, enjoyed the times that she and her parents went for walks around the area. The government however, heard of their existence. They heard of the angelic mother and demonic father and they hunted them down. At first everything was fine. They wanted the parents to sign a contract saying that they'd help the government in times of need, in return they wouldn't be bothered and they could live peacefully in the times between when they were needed. They never thought that their own daughter would be dragged in to it. A young Io grew up rather rapidly and years passed, it could've been fifty or so for all she knows, but... The government eventually showed up, asking for her parents help. The problem being that they didn't want the parents, they wanted Io, as they saw it, Io being a half-breed between both species was possibly more powerful than her parents because she had both attributes to her. The government tried to take her away from her parents and it ended in sorrow for all parties involved. Io managed to flee in the end, escaping the area and heading in to the mountains where she stayed in hiding. Again unsure of how much time passed the government finally found her and they captured her. Subduing her with force and dragging her down from the mountains. The first thing they did was put her in a facility where a close eye would be kept on her as she might be a danger to the government. She'd already told them about her hatred towards them and how they'd all burn for what they did to her. They saw it as a threat and kept her under surveillance. They attempted on numerous occasions to get her to co-operate with them but she always turned on them causing damage not only to her trainer but also to any guards, scientists or doctors close by. This in the end lead to them making a device to keep her under control, they also clipped her wings so she couldn't use them to hurt anyone. They had to subdue her with drugs in order to get her on the table and attach the device which buried in to her flesh and stayed attached to her. It blocked all her memories and it removed some of her power. Lowering to her to half of what she had originally. They then situated her with a fake family. They weren't counting on the people becoming attached to the girl or the people of the village where they put her coming to love her because she was helpful and caring about those around her. It was when she started questioning the forest near by (where her old home was) that she alerted the government since the device on her also alerted them if it were jeopardized. Due to this the government first burned down the forest, Io was in it at the time, to dispose of any and all evidence of her home. Then they went to the village to hunt her down and eliminate her as she was once more a threat and they'd already wasted a lot of time and effort trying to keep her under control so they could use her as a weapon. The villagers stood up for her, and as she arrived she showed up just in time to see them all slaughtered in battle to protect her. She was one of them now, she was almost like family to the entire village, she'd helped them on numerous occasions and she herself had become attached to them. Seeing the village in flames, the citizens murdered in cold blood made her think it was her fault. One of the soldiers even TOLD her it was her fault, if she hadn't made the choice to go in to the forest then everything would've been fine. Luckily before she could be struck down, a portal opened up beneath her and she washed up on the shores of Omphalos. Her journey has started there. She's met people along the way but the most prominent is Veil. He's given her shelter and she appreciates that, he's also pointed out the mystery behind the gem she has on her stomach.
