PG-13 — Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13. A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the forum, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 forum may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented (Thus we ask either you tag your thread with mature to warn younger users, or that you do a time skip, time skips are preferred).
There may be depictions of violence on a PG-13 forum, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A forums single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. Thus we do not wish to see excessive cursing however there are exceptions such as Cid Highwind.
The acts of sex, suicide, rape, and detailed murder are explicitly not allowed. If you want something extremely detailed take it off site or find some other way to rp it between yourselves. If we see it? It will be removed. - No getting the site shut down now okay? Thanks.
02.Posting Length
One Paragraph. A paragraph consists of several sentences that are grouped together. This group of sentences together discuss one main subject. Usually around 100 - 150 words are in a decent paragraph.
03.Double Posting
Double-posting, is fine if you're roleplaying by yourself. Please though we ask for two paragraph posts if you're going to do this and you should make sure to wait 20 minutes or so before posting again. For anything else there is an edit/modify button, it's what it's there for. We also encourage keeping to the theme of your first post so that if you actually put an (open) tag? People CAN join instead of you jumping from place to place. We have had people do that before and it's incredibly hard to get involved with a thread when the person who started it has five or six posts set in different locations.
04.Trolling/Flaming
No flaming. No trolling 'Troll - In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community', baiting, etc, what have you. Arguments aren't needed. If you have a problem with a member, do not start a fight, bring it to a staff member it's what we're here for.
If it is off-site, we cannot help you.
In character trolling? Go for it if it's who your character is. However it is NOT considered flaming when you are retaliating to a nasty remark made by someone towards you. However we would prefer it if you came directly to staff providing evidence of such.
05.Signatures
Nothing that stretches the page or it will be removed.
06.Character Limits
1. For limits on Gods please check This Thread (Click) 2.One character per an account. Want another character? Make a new account that's linked to your global account.
07.The Gods
If you app for a God? We WILL judge your ap extremely harshly. If we do not feel you are up to the required standard for a God or that you will power play/god mod constantly without really doing much for the ability to do so? We reserve the right to deny the application outright.
08.Grammar/Spelling
Try to use it well. Yes we understand and know people spell things wrong and what not but that's what we have a spell check for. So long as your posts don't look like a three year old wrote them then you're fine.
09.English
If you do not grasp the English language very well then we do not want you here. We are an English speaking forum. We write in English, if you cannot grasp it well then we will not understand it and thus it creates a horrible language barrier. Just no. Please. Okay. Thanks.
10.Back Seating
We have staff for a reason. Don't back seat mod or you'll find yourself with a warning, if it continues you'll be banned from the cbox and site for seven days. By Back seat modding I mean, posting in other peoples aps, or telling them what is acceptable and what isn't. This also includes telling staff how to do their job or telling them what's right or wrong when you didn't make the site. You're not staff. You probably don't know, and if you give false information? You probably just made our jobs harder. Don't do it. Thank you. If you don't read this rule and go ahead and do it anyway? Well then shame on you.
11.Third Person
We ask that you use the third-person narrative. Third-person narration provides the greatest flexibility to the author and thus is the most commonly used narrative mode in literature. In the third-person narrative mode, each and every character is referred to by the narrator as "he", "she", "it", or "they", but never as "I" or "we" (first-person), or "you" (second-person). So please no second or first person narrative.
12.Gary/Mary
We all know who Gary-Stu and Mary-Sue are. Mary-Sue//Gary-Stu, in literary criticism and particularly in roleplay and/or fanfiction, these two are an original character with overly idealized and hackneyed mannerisms, lacking noteworthy flaws, and primarily functioning as a wish-fulfillment fantasy for the writer. They're the overly nice, fall over themselves, perfect man or woman that can do no wrong no matter how cruel something is to them. They're forever nice and generally have no depth to their personality. They also seem to hone in on canonical characters, HAVING to rp or be with them, have a connection. No one likes them, sometimes they don't even realize they're a Sue or Stu. Please try and make the character you're making seem more real, everyone has something that sets them off apart from people hurting their friends or loved ones.
13.Links-to-Canons
Don't do it. As simple as that. If you MUST do this? Then ask the rper behind the character first. The Pass is:- abysswalker
14.RESPECT!
If the staff have decided 'No' to something, do not turn it in to an argument. Yes you may explain something however outright rage and anger will not get you ANYWHERE. We're more likely to keep saying no and ultimately BAN you from the site if it continues.
We also ask that you respect your fellow members. Try not to start arguments, if you see something that needs to be addressed ALERT A STAFF MEMBER!
15.Characters that we do NOT accept!
Giant Robots. Anything like a gundam or transformer. You may however if apping someone from Gundam app the pilot.
Real Life Characters. We do not allow real life characters, such as Tom Cruise, The Rock etc, HOWEVER we DO allow them to be used as an fc! HOORAH! For example if someone wanted to app Dean from SuperNatural they could ap Dean using Jensen Ackles as the fc however they cannot make Jensen Ackles the actor.
MMORPG Characters. We do not allow people to use MMORPG Characters as canons. You may however fc them.
16.Cbox Rules!
I really shouldn't need to put this in. However since I have seen that people seem to just do whatever they want if rules aren't applied? Here it is.
staff Respect the staff, they do a lot of work and this forum would not be here without them. If they say no to something then no means no, constant arguing will result in a cbox ban of 1 hour if this becomes a habit you will be banned from the cbox until further notice.
trolling Pointless and stupid, don't do it, it'll result in an immediate perma ban. Remember staff only have to hit one button, so sure keep coming back if you really want to waste your time.
drama Please, for the love of God keep real life drama out of the box. The members of the forum are not your personal councilors. If you really feel the need to talk about it to someone? Then PM them, use msn, aim or skype. We also do not want to see conversations being blown out of proportion. Note:- I myself (Oblivion) do not mind being Pm'd, I'll gladly listen, however please try and keep it away from the chat box for the sake of everyone else.
pestering We do not want to see people pestering others to post, if we see you doing this you will be warned. If it becomes a habit you will be banned for 1 hour every time you start pestering people.
advertising We have a section for that. Don't do it in the cbox or we'll do it in yours, it isn't clever, it isn't polite and well it's frowned upon on most forums. We have a section for advertising use it.
17. Application Points.
If you are apping a canon character from a certain point in a game/anime/film series/t.v. series then that canon character may ONLY have their abilities up until that point.
DO NOT try and app a canon with the personality and history from the beginning and then give them all the abilities that they have at the end, because you feel like it, or the application will result in an instant denial.
